it wasnt that bad actually. i was really scared which made it worse. just relax and theres no pain. i can see perfectly. sometimes it gets a little blurry but for the most part ive been able to see clearly from day 1. if youre older it takes longer... honestly.. it went sooo fast! it was kind of a blur. there was no bleeding.. except my eyes are bruised a little because i fought the clamp. but if you relax that wont happen. its def worth it and not as bad as you would expect it to be!

eye surgery sounds good at first but the truth is... most patients after a while revert back to using glasses due to strain from bad vision habbits. master good vision habbits till the habbits become subconscious and vision will slowly return to normal...no matter how far gone. the question is what are bad and good habbits...

This sounds fishy to me. How could anyone who has been blind from birth even have the vocabulary to describe color? Sure, she knows the words but has absolutely no way to connect the word with the actual visual color. And the brain is an electro-chemical organ and the electrical impulses are too faint to actually be able to detect outside the body without equipment they just don't have in most hospital emergency rooms. EEGs measure skin electric activity and miss anything deep in the brain.

Look up the blind women who had an NDE, she had been blind from birth. And described what the Dr's were wearing, described words on equipment, and even told them the colors of the surgery walls and bed ect while floating above her body. How could a blind person know that other than sight from something other than their physical eyes? Also the brain is dead when there is no electrical activity.

I think any Doctor who claims that they can categorically state that a person is brain dead at the time of death is mis-informed. Usually "brain death" is identified by the lack of certain reflexes or electrical activity in the skin. Now, if they had done an exhaustive survey of electro-chemical activity and found none I'd say you have a case to claim that they were brain-dead. I'm more inclined to chalk most NDEs as proof that current methods of determining brain death are insufficient.

The problem with putting NDE into the context of *proof* in the supernatural is that it is singularly un-provable. It is all about people's perception which can't be independently verified. Even if doctors have testified on it, what kind doctor is an expert on NDE? What about the non-supernatural explanations that are equally compelling? I have no problem with you hating James Randi, you just seem mis-informed about some issues. I believe in the supernatural and really like James Randi.

If you make a claim to someone who is not asking for it to prove something as being real, its not unjustified to ask that person to prove it isn't real. Look at it like this, if someone claimed the earth's round and science believed it was flat & science said i'll give gold nuggets to anyone who can prove its round, and then the round believer says prove its flat. See what you and Randi are failing to understand is, to some people the supernatural is 100% factual because they have had personal proof, now i know personal proof isn't proof to anyone else, but try and see it from the point of view of someone who knows it exists. There is lots of evidence that Randi over looks, like NDE research and the mind leaving the body after physical death, just read the books, Dr's have testified to it. Randi isn't interested in the possibility of it being real.

Why should anyone take up his challenge when they know even if they are genuine all he is going to do is look for ways to discredit them? A Lawyer called Zammit challenged Randi with a million $ (of which Zammit proved he had) to prove (with evidence) that the supernatural doesn't exist & he never met the challenge. When ever Randi is asked to show the million for his challenge he has never shown a soul. If I was a medium & I knew i was genuine Id never take up his challenge for my own integrity

No it is not me who is confused. Randi is a media whore. And people have offered to take up the channels and he refused to accept them. And even if someone did have 100% proof of the supernatural Randi will always find a way to debunk it because he has already made up his mind, he is so narrow minded its embarrassing. Real abilities don't have to work every single time. Randi works with people to create tests where they only have to be more successful than someone guessing randomly. Most people are honest (frauds easily use their powers at will, whenever they're charging for it...), just honestly don't realize their results are identical to chance. Confirmation bias fools even the smartest and most honest among us, thus the need for carefully controlled scientific investigation, not just self-reported powers.

I never had dry eye with contact lenses compared to the dry eye POST LASIK. Now I understand why. In 5-7years, every LASIK person's eyes will probably change, then they will have to go back into contacts anyway. When you/they do, they will discover what millions of us now have to live with, and that is that your eye's nerves were cut with the FLAP creation, never again to produce sufficient tear film needed to keep your eyes healthy. Now you have contacts on and they burn all day long...

I had PRK done. This is what I am saying. So far the recovery has been good. I couldn't see well at all for the first week, but now things are clear. I see Halos at night still and I have been using medicated drops daily. I wake up with dry eyes still, but I am told this goes away.

I too am a victim of LASIK. I too bought in to all of the lies telling me that it was painless, safe, proven, and had a 95% success rate. All lies. Every year my eyes get dryer and dryer and I'm wondering if my eye is dying from having had the nerves cut never to regrow since the LASIK FLAP was created. I never had dry eye or eye pain until I paid a LASIK Lying Quack Charlatan $5k to ruin my eyes and thus my life. Every LASIK surgery is a failure because it leaves you with permanent dry eye

I just had mine done a month ago...you don't feel anything at all, just a little pressure at the beginning. the thing they use to hold your eye open...i thought it would feel weird, but you don't even notice them putting it in. it's actually not uncomfortable at all. go for it. it's worth it. i had hardly any pain the following days, just a little bit of scratchy feeling like hair in my eyes.

The point was that the UHC in the UK is rewarding their doctors and driving better patient results than the US. My friend also tore his ACL but he chose the cadaver surgery. It has a little more risk because your body could reject the graft due to contamination from the previous owner if I remember correctly. However, the cadaver graft is less painful and you will be able to walk sooner then you would with the patella/hamstring graft.

The worst part is the first couple weeks of therapy. DO THE EXERCISES THEY TELL YOU TO DO AT HOME!!! I didnt do so and suffered for it. I cant run as fast as before, jump as high, and after sustained periods of physical activity my knee gets extremely sore. It also doesnt help when your insurance stops paying for therapy when you are at an "average" persons strength, not your previous strength or even close to it. I also had patella graft which is said to be more painful and heals longer.

At age 18, during a long tumble down a cliff while skiing, I snapped my ACL in half ("like two ends of a mop" my Dr. said while looking at the cat scan). I had surgery and it was fine. (No catheter, to weird side effects, etc.) At about 3 or 4 weeks out, my physical therepist didn't know what to do with me because I was already about to normal and still had 2 weeks of PT prescribed. Pain was minimal, although the meds were pretty great... Don't walk around in pain...get the surgery! :)

it went pretty good...im walking fine now after bout 7weeks(with a walking brace of course) but yea the first three days i guess the drugs make you feel useless and depressed but then things get better, my physical therapist says i can start playing at about 12weeks, so its not the end of sports, PT gets kinda hard but nothing to serious im 15 too! seems alot of kids my age are messing up haha gotta be more careful

im 16 so we're close in age. and i was scared too! but they drug you up so much you dont care what they do really haha. GET A NERVE BLOCK! that saved my life basically. it made me not hurt as bad right after surgery. im 3 months out and im doing great! im starting to job again and weight lift. start walking like the day after surgery to regain strength and BEND YOUR KNEE! i walked straight legged haha. it just made me limp worse... let me know how it all goes! good luck!

I had mine done almost 8 weeks ago. Honestly there is no need to be nervous!... For some reason I didn't get nervous until i walked into the thearte room. You'll feel like crap the first 3 days, the pain isn't too bad, but it's frustrating and i sorta got emotional lol. But from you progress very fast. I was walking in less than 2 weeks. Stay positve and do you physio excerises everyday if you can :)

ahaha same thing happened to me. he thought i just hyperextended it, which is understandable cuz i was "capable" of walking. he told me to go back in the game, luckily i knew better. surgery was easy as balls, i was tired. i fell asleep before the anesthetics. i was in virtually no pain after it. it hurt more two weeks later. they give you STRONG meds! youll be fine. plus, everyone does everything for you while youre in a brace and on crutches, good luck
